Non Vascular Intervention

Percutaneous Gastrostomy

A procedure in which a flexible feeding tube is placed through the abdominal wall and into the stomach. Peg allows nutrition, Fluids and/or medications to be put directly into the stomach, bypassing the mouth and esophagus.

Vertebroplasty

Vertebroplasty can bring relief often within hours of treatment. It provides long-term pain relief, has low complication rate and improves the range of motion in more than 90% of patients.

Kyphoplasty

Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive treatment in which orthopedic balloons are used to gently elevate and stabilize the fractured vertebrae. Similar to vertebroplasty, patients usually receive significant or complete relief of pain.

Nephrostomy

An artificial opening created between the kidney and the skin which allows for the drainage of urine directly from the upper part of the urinary system.

Biliary Intervention

Biliary interventions are minimally invasive procedures performed to treat blockages or narrowing in bile ducts.

biliary interventions include percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography. This involves the injection of a contrast material directly into the bile ducts inside the liver to produce pictures of the bile ducts. If a blockage or narrowing is found, additional procedures can be performed, these include:

• Insertion of a catheter to drain excess bile out of the body.

• Removal of gallstones.

• Stent placement, in which a small plastic or metal tube is placed inside a duct to help it remain open or to bypass an obstruction and allow fluids to drain internally.
